Meet Your Host
Randy Reid founded EdisonReport in 1999. His career in the lighting industry has spanned over 30 years and he has been instrumental in shaping the lighting industry. He owns and manages LumEfficient, a company that sells energy-efficient LED lighting throughout the world. Randy has served as President of the IES (2001-2003) and has been a member of the Lightfair Management Committee and Advisory Committee. He was Chairman of the IES Annual Conference in 2010 and received the President’s Award in 2011. Randy is a retired Lieutenant Colonel of the US Army Reserve. He holds a BS in Business from the University of Alabama and a MBA from the University of Tennessee.

Randy Reid began Today in Lighting in 2020 as a way to share news quickly with the lighting industry. The podcast is released every Monday through Friday and provides a succinct but informative summary of the headlines making news within the industry. Reid stated in the press release announcing the podcast, “Today people consume information in many different ways.”
As one of the lighting industry’s most trusted sources, Reid felt it was crucial that EdisonReport’s content be as accessible and as available as possible. Through audio format, Today in Lighting will allow EdisonReport to continue its mission of covering lighting industry news not found in mainstream media sources, providing listeners with up-to-the-minute and well-researched information.
